The first image is of John Paul Jones. He was a navy officer who raided British ports. His ship defeated the British ship called the Serapis. The portrait of John Paul Jones shows what his facial features look like, which is hard to comprehend through text. The second image is of George Washington. He was the leader of the Americans during the revolution. The portrait of George Washington represents strong leadership by the way he is sat upon a horse wearing armor. The third image is of Nathanael Greene. He replaced Horatio Gates and split the army into two to defeat the British in January of 1781. The portrait of Nathanael Greene shows what he looks like, which is easier to understand than a document describing what he looks like. The fourth image is of General Bernardo de Galvez. He was the governor of Louisiana and supported the patriots by giving them supplies and money. The portrait of General Bernardo de Galvez shows his image on a stamp. It shows how he was an important, yet forgotten, to the American revolution.

He was the Spanish governor of Louisiana, who aided the Patriots by opening New Orleans's port for trade, loaned them thousands of dollars, and sent them supplies and ammunition for the war. Jon Paul Jones was a naval officer who raided British ports. He helped lead a fleet of merchant ships for the Americans. He always believed in winning and would never quit, and his famous quote to support that is, “ I have not yet begun to fight”. Only the picture that is left of him gives a brief glimpse as to what he looked like.
